1893 Works as an illustrator for the Philadelphia Record, the Public Ledger, and The Press

1895 - 96 Travels to Paris, bicycles through Europe

1896 Moves to New York along with Robert Henri, John Sloan, George Luks, and Everett Shinn. Works as an illustrator for The New York Herald and the New York World

1898 Reports on the Spanish-American War in Cuba

1908 Exhibits with the group known as "The Eight" and the show travels the eastern half of the US.

1913 Helps organise the Armory Show
