Curatorial RemarksThe painting was photographed in black and white in 1969, one of approximately 3 dozen paintings from the artist's studio that had been stored unstretched (Brandywine River Museum, catalogue raisonné files). Until 2011, that photographic record was the only known documentation of this work. The painting was signed by a member of the Wyeth family other than the artist. The title on the stretcher, which may be a copy of a title on the original stretcher, is consistent with the type of titles NCW gave to these impressionist style paintings.
Karol A. Schmeigel suggested a relationship with NCW 1196.
