Curatorial RemarksThis work is dated by its stylistic associations with NCW 2121. The title occurs on the 1984 invoice, but there seems to be no prior record of it. (Richard Layton's 1950 inventory of the paintings in the artist's studio lists major works and "76 miscellaneous small sketches and studies.")
