Curatorial RemarksThe Brandywine River Museum holds the lantern slide (NCWS.95.1825.201) used in the transfer of the design from paper to panel (NCW 1310). The slide shows the complete drawing, which is presently missing about a quarter of its original height, and the full inscription in the lower right: SKETCH / N. C. WYETH. NCW 2257 is a study for the figure of the mother.
