Curatorial RemarksThe inscription on the reverse of this painting indicates that the model for "The Poacher" was Herbert Jenkins. The Jenkins family lived in Chadds Ford, and members often worked or modeled for the artist. (see NCW 2382 for a portrait sketch of Herb Jenkins.)
