Curatorial RemarksThis painting was accompanied by a certificate from Carolyn Wyeth verifying that it was painted by N. C. Wyeth. The title was first noted on a 1990 purchase agreement; it does not occur among the informal cards created by Carolyn Wyeth (Annenberg Research Center, Brandywine River Museum of Art) that inventory her father's estate. Two cards unlinked to paintings that might describe this one (both noted as 25 x 30 inches) could be no. 50, "Maine Coast" or no. 70, "Maine Sea in Spring."
