Curatorial RemarksExtant in the artist's studio collection is a hat similar to the one worn by the figure (Brandywine River Museum, NCWS.99.1); photographs of Stimson Wyeth modeling a similar hat may have been used as pictorial references for the painting (Wyeth Family Archives).
