Curatorial RemarksIn a letter written in early March 1903, Wyeth called this "as truthful a sketch as I ever painted" (NCW to Henriette Zirngiebel Wyeth, "It's raining as usual" and dated in another hand March 9, 1903, Wyeth Family Archives). He sent the small canvas, a picture of Pyle's Franklin Street studio, to his mother later that month.
The inscription on the reverse must have been written sometime after Mrs. A. N. Wyeth gave the painting to Anton Kamp, for Henriette Zirngiebel Wyeth died August 11, 1925.
