Curatorial RemarksScribner's records list the medium of this work as "wash". The price was $85.00 which would indicate that this was a drawing, probably on paper with ink wash (Brandywine River Museum library, Scribner's archives, #23199).
"Wilmington Artists in the March Magazines" (unknown newspaper, Wilmington, DE, March 1906; BRMA NCW collection) "Wyeth is represented sufficiently this month to assure his popularity and warrant the establishment of a reputation had that not been achieved some time ago..."A Brother to Diogenes," Thomas Nelson Page’s story in Scribner’s, is also illustrated by Wyeth.
