Curatorial RemarksTraditionally this painting has been dated ca. 1907, with no archival authority. The heavy impasto suggests similar handling of paint in NCW 1424 and NCW 1068 from about 1908, but as a small study probably done outdoors, it could also relate to the preceding work.
