Curatorial RemarksThe authority for the title of this work rests with Carolyn Wyeth, who titled it before she sold it; it is unclear whether her choice rested on labels or inscriptions on the work itself, or on family oral history. Stimson's visit in the summer of 1913 is alluded to in a letter, NCW to Stimson, May 26, 1913, Wyeth Family Archives.
