Curatorial RemarksThis unsigned sketch is authenticated by the provenance--the drawing was given to family friend Anton Kamp by Mrs. A. N. Wyeth in the mid-1920s, from a cache of Wyeth's juvenile work.
It is likely that the cap Wyeth is wearing is the same knitted cap that appears in his ca. 1918 self-portrait in oil (see curatorial comment at NCW 136).
