Curatorial RemarksIn a letter to his parents dated November 3, 1904, Wyeth wrote from Canon Gallegos, NM, "I have had very little time to sketch although I have made 8 or 10 Indian heads in pencil and a couple in color." The drawing on the verso of this painting, a sketch of a figure in chaps, may relate to NCW 103.
