Curatorial RemarksThis work is difficult to date, but the heavy impasto may relate it to two early views of Pyle's barn (NCW 1068 and NCW 2419). The painting was photographed in 1969, one of approximately 3 dozen paintings from the artist's studio that had been stored unstretched (Brandywine River Museum, catalogue raisonné files). The artist's grandson titled the work.
