Curatorial Remarks"The Air Mail panel (for Ginn) came out darned effectively. I'll get their (underlined) report in a few days I suppose. Expressed it today" (NCW to Carolyn Bockius Wyeth, July 7, 1938, Wyeth Family Archives). The Brandywine River Museum holds a lantern slide (NCWS.95.1825.86) of the composition drawing which was used in the transfer of the design from paper to panel.
