Curatorial RemarksThe present owner believes that the inscription on the reverse, which includes a date, may have been written by Ann Wyeth McCoy, who may have linked the subject to Wyeth's work for Michael Strogoff published in 1927. The drawing of the cossack does not correspond with any figure in the set of illustrations.
