Curatorial RemarksThis drawing is related to the figure of the shepherd in "The Mexican Greaser" (NCW 320), an oil painting of 1908. It's not clear whether the drawing was done during one of Wyeth's western trips and later used as a basis for the painting, or whether the drawing was done as a study in 1908.
