Curatorial RemarksAccording to correspondence from Brown & Bigelow, this skech was received in St. Paul by April 5, 1934. Executives felt that the ship could be made larger, and were anxious for Wyeth to complete the commission (Orion Winford, Brown & Bigelow, to NCW, April 5, 1934, Brandywine River Museum library). The Brandywine River Museum holds a lantern slide (NCWS.95.1825.198) of the drawing and a slide (NCWS.95.1825.199) of a detail of the ship used in the transfer of the design from paper to canvas (NCW 1173). See NCWS.95.22, a booklet found in Wyeth's studio library on the Seth Parker.
