Curatorial RemarksThe present work is known by archival photograph only, one of two such preparatory drawings for Christopher Columbus (NCW 300). This drawing is the closer to the final composition, and probably represents the image approved by Hiram Walker. NCW 1100 is the alternate or earlier composition.
