Curatorial RemarksThis image originally was conceived as a cover for Saturday Evening Post, described by the artist as "an aesthetic maiden in classic dress on a hill-top, with wind blowing and sprays of dogwood interspersed" (NCW to Henriette Zirngiebel Wyeth, misdated in NCW's hand Jan. 7, 1909 (really 1910), Wyeth Family Archives).
