Curatorial RemarksThis was Wyeth's first commission from Ladies' Home Journal, described by him as "a big offer" (NCW to Henriette Zirngiebel Wyeth, "I feel sorry that I did not write..." and dated in another hand April 10, 1906, Wyeth Family Archives). "DRAWN BY N. C. WYETH" was printed below the reproduction, which measured only 2 x 3 3/8 inches.
