Curatorial RemarksThe drawing is lined and numbered for photography, which would have resulted in lantern slides which Wyeth used in the process of transfering the design from paper to canvas. The slides for this particular image, however, were not located in the artist's studio. A comparison between the composition drawing and the present appearance of the mural (see NCW 437) indicates the extent of painted surface added during the conservation campaign of the mid 1980s when the mural was removed from its original site.
