Curatorial RemarksMark Tomasko, bank note expert, says that this image was done for the American Bank Note Company, and was engraved in 1864 by Alfred Jones. It was used on a state certificate relating to the Civil War, and possibly on on insurance policy. GAS 7/29/2013 see e-mail in object file.
