Curatorial RemarksThis piece was removed from the N. C. Wyeth studio in September 1995. In February 2008, it was examined by Andrew Wyeth, who attributed it to N. C. Wyeth. The drawing on the recto is in purple outline, indicating the carbon transfer process; the drawing on the verso is a shaded charcoal study. The sheet is laid paper with the partial watermark "Lalan" visible along the upper right side. Other early work by NCW is on paper with this watermark.
