Curatorial RemarksThis is the one of seven illustrations printed in "The Banner of Light," a spiritualist newspaper published in Boston in 1900, Wyeth's earliest known publications to date. NCW 1571 (BRM 96.1.75) is an alternative image for this design; NCW 2246.290-297 are figure studies. Wyeth's work for the Banner of Light was noted by his mother in a letter to Alfretta Archibald, Dec. 31, 1900 (Brandywine River Museum Library).
