Curatorial RemarksThis drawing is related by title and subject to a ca. 1910 painting for Winchester Repeating Arms (NCW 2122), but stylistically it has the feel of the artist's later work, suggesting, for example, the Hercules images of the 1930s and early 1940s.
The added piece of paper along the top edge increases the expansive feeling of the sky, or perhaps served to increase the height to width ratio for the intended publication.
