Curatorial RemarksGeorge Chappell's humorous essay for the "City Cross-Sections" series focused on the travails of visitors stalled in their car at the busy corner of Fifth Avenue and Forty-second Street in Manhattan. Kent's drawing conveys the panic- stricken driver who envisions being clapped into a dark prison as the imposing policeman confronts him and his obstructing vehicle.
