Curatorial RemarksLetter from Malcolm Gerry to Stephen Hustvedt 9/6/72: Gerry states that the subject is an inaccurate version of the actual Battle of Lake Erie. On closer evaluation it appears that our painting was not the picture used for the Harper's article. It seems that Aylward made at least three versions. VHO 6/2/95
