Curatorial RemarksWalter Laird was one of the trustees involved in the building of St. Andrew's School, and he is pictured among the planners of the school, second from the left on the right side of the mural (NCW 1467). His hands grasp a chair back and an architectural blueprint, so if this drawing does relate to Laird's appearance in the painting, the pose was changed before the final work. It may be that the name, written in an unidentified hand, does not pertain to the image.
