Curatorial RemarksThis is undoubtedly "Boulders" of the 1912 exhibition. All the numbers in the exhibition brochure are one or two numbers off those on the stretchers of the exhibited paintings, as if there were substitutions or rearrangements after the brochure was printed. The painting was no. 71 in Carolyn Wyeth's studio inventory of the early 1970s (Brandywine River Museum library); the card is annotated with "Rocky Hill / Chadds Ford."
