Curatorial RemarksThis is one of two canvases that composed a complete illustration on a double page spread. The left side of the image (NCW 635) was noted in a 1950 inventory of paintings in the artist's studio and descended to Carolyn Wyeth, but the artist gave this side to a visitor to his studio, a twelve year old aspiring cowboy.
