Curatorial RemarksThis is the view looking toward Chadds Ford from the property Wyeth rented between April 1908 and March 1911. Along with NCW 45 and 2356, the three paintings comprise a progressive view down the hill toward the village.
The painting has been waxed-lined and inscriptions on the stretcher are partially obscured by the lining overlap and a heavy coating of wax. The inscription seems to be in the form of those that appear on the stretchers of paintings that were included in the artist's exhibition at the Philadelphia Sketch Club in Nov. 1912, and "noon" can be distinquished.
