Curatorial RemarksMary Huse Eastman, who received the painting from N. C. Wyeth, worked at the Wilmington Public Library from 1900 to 1950. In 1907 she became Wilmington's first reference librarian, with specialties in history and Delawareana. She helped Howard Pyle with research for his period paintings, and also assisted many Pyle students, among them N. C. Wyeth.
