Curatorial RemarksThe composition drawing for this painting is extant (NCW 744), and the Brandywine River Museum holds the lantern slide (NCWS.95.1825.120) used in the transfer from paper to panel.
In a letter to Ann Wyeth McCoy dated Oct. 10, 1966 (Ann Wyeth McCoy Collection, Annenberg Research Center, Brandywine River Museum of Art), Andrew Wyeth recollected that he and his sister posed for this picture.
