Curatorial Remarks"I am enclosing two proofs of recent work done for the Ginn Company. You will recognize the "Headquarters" in the "Revoluntionary Days" picture" (NCW to Henriette Zirngiebel Wyeth, July 29, 1918, Wyeth Family Archives). The building to which Wyeth referred was Washington's headquarters during the Battle of Brandywine, a building which burned in 1931 and was subsequently reconstructed to its late 18th-century appearance. The first owner, Leroy Jefferson Weed, was an employee of Ginn & Co.
