Curatorial RemarksAccording to the inscription on the reverse of the canvas, this was a design originally conceived for the First National Bank of Boston. The Scribner's reproduction must document the appearance of the painting before it was reworked and given to Wyeth's brother-in-law Richard E. C. Bockius and Ruth Pratt as a wedding present. The composition and coloration are very similar to a ca. 1922 calendar image (NCW 629).
