Curatorial RemarksThis is a preliminary, but not the final, composition drawing for "Corn Harvest in the Hill Country," (NCW 815), a commission from Clarence Poe of Progressive Farmer Magazine for a cover illustration. The artist altered the composition in the second drawing (NCW 2113) to show the horse heads beyond the foreground figure.
