Curatorial RemarksAndrew Wyeth identified this unsigned image as his father's work when he helped James P. Simpson with the first compilation of N. C. Wyeth's art in 1946-1947 (see James P. Simpson to H. E. Meyers of Curtis Publishing Co., June 9, 1947, James P. Simpson Collection, Brandywine River Museum library). Wyeth's work for the Jobbers OverAll Company was done through N. W. Ayer & Son, a Philadelphia advertising agency (see the N. W. Ayer Advertising Agency Records, 1849-2001, Archives Center, National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution). The Brandywine River Museum holds a pair of Blue Buckle OverAlls from the artist's studio (NCWS.95.4538).
