Curatorial RemarksAccording to the text, the figures are August Lindbergh, his wife Louise Carline Lindbergh, and their son Charles August (who would grow up to be the father of the aviator). The paintings for this story are dated by a group of photographs of Lindbergh family members sent to N.C. Wyeth as reference material, all inscribed on the reverse: THIS PRINT MADE FOR / McCall's / APRIL 21, 1931 (Wyeth Family Archives).
