Curatorial RemarksThis illustration has qualities of a drawing, similar to another illustration for this story that was classified under "Style" as "charcoal," according to Scribner's records (Brandywine River Museum library, Scribner's archives, # 29493). It may have been created with charcoal and water or oil-based wash on a canvas or paper support. Wyeth's correspondence does not clarify the issue.
