Curatorial RemarksWyeth's letter of 30 March 1903: "The Leslie's job is a "corker." The full page illustration is the picture of a man that is shot in the back and his horse is going like h____; he is reeling in his saddle but keeps a hold on the pommel and thereby sticks." Regarding the complete set of two illustrations and head- and tail pieces, he wrote on April 28th, "My Leslie's work is nearly done and Mr. Pyle has seen it. He liked it very well" (NCW to HZW, "At least I've got...." and dated in another hand April 28, 1903, Wyeth Family Archives).
