Curatorial RemarksThe Brandywine River Museum holds the bottom half of this drawing (NCW 2044, 96.1.534), and it is not known when and how the two pieces were separated. The drawing's original appearance is documented in a lantern slide (NCWS.95.1825.197) in the museum's collection, used in the transfer the design from paper to painting support (NCW 1322).
