Curatorial RemarksThe central grouping of figures, with some slight modifications, appears in an oil on canvas painting that was reproduced as a calendar image about 1935 (NCW 1104). A seam in the paper support, approximately 29 inches from the viewer's left edge, could suggest that the artist added to or changed the left portion of the composition. The extreme horizontal orientation of the painting makes the image unsuited for a standard illustration or calendar picture. Andrew Wyeth believes that this was the last image his father produced for Interwoven Stocking Company, about 1928-29.
