Curatorial RemarksAfter seeing Wyeth's drawing for the Standish coat of arms, Francis H. Allen inquired of the artist if the design were authentic. Wyeth responded on August 3, 1920 that the design was taken from "America Heraldica" by E. de V. Vermont, published by Brentano Bros in 1886. (Houghton Mifflin Archives, Houghton Library, Harvard University). The same design also was embossed in gold on the back cover.
