Curatorial RemarksAccording to letters, Wyeth worked on this commission in mid-September through mid-October 1907. "I enclose a rough proof of the first picture I made them (Ladies' Home Journal). The period is revolutionary and the scene is in the Valley Forge Hills" (NCW to HZW, Oct. 20, 1907, Wyeth Family Archives).
