Curatorial RemarksAccording to Douglas Allen, Jr., this is one of a group of about eight to ten items found in the attic of a house, possibly the "Wyeth homestead," in Needham in the late 1960s. The group included work in oil, watercolor, charcoal and pencil, and all dated to the late 1890s. (Other items in the group include NCW 2107, NCW 2108, NCW 1259 and NCW 308.). They were handled by a Sheffield, Massachusetts, rare book dealer.
