Curatorial RemarksTwo 40" stretchers found in Wyeth's studio may have been the original stretchers for this painting. Wyeth used the two stretchers to support the canoe he hung in the studio; when the canoe was more securely supported in 1995, examination of one of the stretchers revealed the following inscription penciled on it: (illegible) Amber's Mirage June page 8
