Curatorial RemarksCorrespondence in 1979 regarding this painting (Brandywine River Museum catalogue raisonne files) suggests that it was published in the Dec. 1951 Woman's Day Magazine, however there is no reproduction of the work in that issue. On the present frame is a brass plaque that reads: Painted for Woman's Day / by N. C. Wyeth. Wyeth's earliest known association with Woman's Day begins in 1937.
