Curatorial RemarksThe Brandywine River Museum holds a lantern slide (NCWS.95.1825.206) of the composition drawing for this commission; the drawing is signed N.C.W. in the lower right and includes a vignette of an airplane that appeared in the upper left of the advertisement. The Museum also holds a lantern slide (NCWS.95.1825.207) of a proof sheet with the Goodyear logo in the lower right and the area marked for text . This image was commissioned through the Kudner Advertising Agency of New York and appeared only in Life Magazine as a double page spread (Jerome Kempler, Kudner Agency, to James P. Simpson, Feb. 18, 1947, Brandywine River Museum library).
