Curatorial RemarksHelen S. Leavitt, the first owner of this painting, was an instructor in music at Boston University and an editor of the "World of Music" books. The Brandywine River Museum holds a charcoal composition drawing (NCW 2083, 96.1.514) for this image and a lantern slide (NCWS.95.1825.84) made from the drawing and used in the transfer of the design from paper to panel.
